Light MSEB- “When leadership stays on the ground and follows through, even long-pending problems find solutions.”
Resolving Street Light Issues in NIBM Area & Welcome Hall Chowk
Non-functional street lights in the NIBM area and Welcome Hall Chowk had become a serious concern for residents of Kondhwa–Kausar Baugh, affecting public safety, mobility, and security during night hours. Frequent darkness on roads increased the risk for pedestrians, women, senior citizens, and daily commuters.

Recognizing the urgency of the issue, Sameer Shafi Pathan, as President of Nagrik Adhikar Manch, personally visited the affected sites multiple times to assess the situation on the ground. He consistently raised the matter with the concerned authorities and maintained continuous follow-up with MSEB, ensuring the issue was not ignored or delayed.

When repeated complaints failed to bring timely action, a peaceful public protest was organized to highlight the seriousness of the problem and demand accountability. This collective citizen action, led by Sameer Shafi Pathan, drew the attention of the authorities and accelerated resolution.

As a result of sustained coordination and pressure, the street light issues were finally resolved, restoring safety and normalcy in the area. Following the resolution, local residents celebrated the success and expressed their gratitude, acknowledging Sameer Shafi Pathan’s persistence, leadership, and commitment to standing with citizens until solutions are delivered.
